Design Germany 2011

For the second year in a row, Leise Design designed and realized the international traveling exhibition "Design Germany" for the German Design Council. The task was once again to develop a revisable and fully electrifiable exhibition system that would be particularly suitable for adapting the partially different exhibits that were shown at the three exhibition locations in Milan, New York and Hong Kong.

As in the previous year, the exhibition architecture was based on a formally reduced basic module with good modular properties. This year, however, the orthogonal grid was deliberately broken by the arrangement of the modules, creating a multi-layered, ice-floe-like landscape.

The special interplay of architectural and spatial graphic elements created a visual complexity and density that has the power to combine a wide variety of product worlds, from candle holders to vehicle studies, into an exciting overall view.

At several points in the exhibition landscape, the open architecture condensed into overhangs and roof formations, which created ideal conditions for the placement of the wall- and ceiling-mounted exhibits.
